We are looking for Attendance H.E.R.O.s. These are students who are Here, Everyday, Ready and On-time.

Attendance is very important to us.  Regular attendance is key to success in school.  You can promote this by having your child arrive on time and ready to learn.   If your child will be absent, you can report the absence by calling 562-602-8044 or by sending a note to your child’s teacher.  Please be prepared to provide your child’s first and last name, date of absence and reason for the absence.  If you miss school, you miss out!

Dear Marvelous Mokler Friends and Family,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Major Lynn Mokler School.  We have a devoted and caring staff committed to providing students with a quality education in a safe and nurturing environment.

Mokler is also a Safe and Civil School.  We believe that all students should have the opportunity to learn and play in a safe environment.  This year, we will continue to prepare students to be productive, respectful, intelligent, dedicated and encouraging students.  As you know, the California Department of Education recognized our hard work in supporting all students by awarding us with the California Gold Ribbon Award as well as the Title 1 Academic Achievement Award.  Each year, we continue to show progress on the end of year state assessment- SBAC.  With this dedication, we will continue to refine our teaching practices to make additional growth.

Parents play an integral part in children’s education.  If you are interested in supporting our school, we invite you to become an active partner by joining the PTA or volunteering in the classroom.  Please ask your child’s teacher ways to assist them or you may come into the office to pick up a VAPSS (Volunteers Assisting Paramount Students and Staff) application.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 562-602-6048.

Paramount air monitoring activities

The Paramount USD administration is working with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to provide our district direction and information regarding the current Chromium 6 investigative process in the City of Paramount. The SCAQMD is the regulatory organization in charge of the air quality in the area, as well as the agency providing information regarding the current investigation.

The SCAQMD has indicated to our district that their action plan includes the placement of testing equipment in district property.   School district staff will work with the SCAQMD regarding location and timing of the placement and will provide access to their personnel so that they can complete the testing equipment placement.  Additionally, we have asked for information regarding their reports and findings that can be shared with our district community, and they have directed us to their web site, which includes web pages dedicated to information about their air monitoring activities in the City of Paramount, their meetings and processes: http://www.aqmd.gov/home/regulations/compliance/air-monitoring-activities.

Box Tops For Mokler

Please help us collect Box Tops. If you will cut them out, and have your child turn them in to his or her homeroom teacher, we will benefit as a school. This collective effort helps us purchase much needed supplies and materials. You are bringing money to our students' programs. We thank you in advance for being our partners in this worthy endeavor.
